The Craftsman Cottage architecture is reminiscent of the “Arts & Crafts” movement popular in the early history of California. Through the Rockrose Cottage trellis & gate, you will be led down the shaded stone path to the entry door. Upon arrival, you will be greeted with feelings of comfort through a recipe of décor that is both modern & classic with warm neutral tones, Craftsman feels, and industrial touches.
The Rockrose Cottage has soft ambient lighting and modern furnishings which bring a fresh perspective to the original Craftsman design. The living room offers a cozy place of rest with a large flat-screened television, comfortable queen-sized sofa bed which adds a sleeping space for a third guest, and an oversized chair; perfect for reading an offering from the extensive library which features books on Sonoma’s rich history, its land, and its peoples including our indigenous ancestors.
The kitchen area is a friendly anchor to the cottage with granite counter tops, chef’s grade appliances; including six-burner gas range, and dining for four.
The spacious and romantic bedroom offers a king-sized bed, large walk-in closet, an electric Craftsman-Style faux fireplace with amazingly real fire-feature at the push of a remote, and glass doors that lead to the delightful hidden atrium with jetted soaking tub and skylight.
The spacious and sun-filled bathroom is equipped with a shower over tub and laundry area with full sized washer and dryer.
If the loveliness of the indoors isn’t enough, the property generously provides a wonderful yard with full sized patio. Under the natural shade of old growth trees, you will feel cool & comfortable on warm summer evenings as you enjoy a glass of wine and homemade charcuterie board. This area offers relaxed seating for four, an electric outdoor grill for your al fresco meals, and lovely lighting by way of string lights and strategically placed Uplights.
If you can be lured away from this enchanting place, you will find that Rockrose Cottage is in the ideal location. It is located halfway between the historic downtown Sonoma Square & the small but mighty town of Glen Ellen. Staying here places you in close proximity to the very best vineyards, hiking trails, wineries, tasting rooms, and restaurants that Sonoma Wine Country has to offer.
